Our History

I am writing to share a brief overview of my professional background and journey in the maritime industry.

I began my career in 1981 as a training cadet with Univan Ship Management Ltd. in Hong Kong, after completing my Bachelor of Science. Over the next four years, I gained experience on various vessels, including tankers, general cargo ships, bulkers, containers, car carriers, and OBOs, with a focus on VLCC and ULCC.

After obtaining my Certificate of Competency in the United Kingdom, I joined Wallem Ship Management Ltd., working on tanker vessels. I continued to advance my qualifications and worked with several companies such as Wilhelmsen, Wah Kwang, and Dubai Shipping. After 11 years as an officer at sea, I decided to settle in North America.

Since arriving in Quebec, Canada, in 2002, I have continued my career ashore. I worked as a Marine Surveyor with Antares Marine, then as a Marine Superintendent at Robert Reford Steamship Company, and later as a Marine Inspector at Intertek.

In 2014, I established my own company, SEA SOB INC / MER SOB INC. This corporate entity encompasses several ventures, primarily SEA SOB INC / MER SOB INC Marine Inspection, along with import/export goods and marine parts.

I am proud to have cultivated strong relationships with a diverse client base for marine inspection services, including Yara, Syn Agri, Robert Reford, Gresco, MOL Group, Antares, Fednav, and Intertek.

My achievements are the result of hard work, passion, focus, persistence, understanding, and respect, which have brought me to this successful stage in my career.
